Privacy Policy

Playlists and viewing data
Playlist addresses, provider credentials, favourites, profiles, viewing history, watch progress, parental PIN hashes and preferences are stored on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your playlists or viewing history. A playlist address may contain a username and password.
Connections to your provider
The app connects directly to the sources you add to fetch playlists, programme guides, streams and, where supported, provider account status and expiry. Your provider receives your IP address and the credentials needed for your account. Its own terms and privacy practices apply. An HTTP source is not encrypted in transit; prefer HTTPS where your provider supports it.
Optional iCloud
When you enable iCloud sync, your playlists, provider credentials, profiles, preferences, favourites, progress and parental settings are written to your own Apple iCloud account. Apple operates iCloud. Turning sync off stops future sync and does not delete existing cloud copies. The current Mac preview uses an iCloud Drive folder. Availability on other platforms depends on their released app versions.
TMDB and images
With Plus metadata enabled, title searches, title identifiers, language and region preferences are sent directly to TMDB; images are requested from its CDN. TMDB and image hosts receive your IP address and normal network request details. Provider passwords and complete playlists are not sent to TMDB. The app does not include advertising SDKs or behavioural analytics. Lifetime Player does not include active TMDB services. TMDB privacy information is at https://wwwthemoviedb.org/privacy-policy.
Purchases
Apple processes in-app purchases and subscriptions. The app reads verified StoreKit transaction information, such as product, entitlement, expiry and revocation status, to provide purchased access. We do not receive your card number. Apple manages billing records and payment privacy under its own policies.
Support and website
If you email us, we receive the address and information you choose to send and use it to answer your request. Please do not include provider passwords, complete playlist URLs or payment details. The website uses Vercel hosting and Cloudflare DNS/security; these providers may process IP addresses and technical access/security logs. We do not add advertising cookies or behavioural tracking to this site. Hosting-provider retention follows their applicable policies.
Retention and deletion
Local viewing data remains until you remove it or remove the app's data. Delete playlists in playlist management and profiles in profile management. Metadata caches may persist until you clear app data. For a complete reset of the Mac preview, close the app and remove its configured data folder. If iCloud was enabled, turn it off on your devices and remove the TheDude files from iCloud Drive; Apple may retain recoverable copies under its policies. Removing the app does not cancel an Apple subscription. Apple controls transaction retention. Support correspondence is kept while reasonably needed to resolve and document a request or meet legal duties.
Your choices and rights
You can decline iCloud, choose the app language and region, and manage or cancel Apple subscriptions. You do not need to create a separate The Dude account. Contact support@burak.me to request access, correction or deletion of information you have sent us. Rights, objections and complaints to a privacy authority depend on applicable law. We may need proportionate verification before acting on a request.
Children and changes
The app is a general media player, not a service directed at children. Parental controls lock categories and do not verify every title's age rating. We may update this policy as features change; material changes will be communicated in the app or on this site. The updated date identifies the current version.
